My Project

As the holiday season approaches, I am reaching out for donations so I can provide each 5th grade a "December to Remember". I teach in a Title I school, and unfortunately, many of the students don't have access to proper winter clothing or books to read. I would love to give each child a book, a warm pair of gloves, a bookmark, hot cocoa, and a craft picture to capture our memories together.

When giving a gift to someone, you create a nice gesture, that can show them how valued and important they are.

When we recognize the needs of an individuals and identify the resources available to them, it can create a positive environment that promotes student learning and success. This is true not only in school, but also at home. In our district, the students have two weeks off for the holidays and this can mean happiness for some, but it can also mean the exact opposite for others. This is why I would really like the opportunity to give them meaningful gifts that will keep them occupied and happy at home over the break. I am requesting a book so they can continue to develop their love for reading. Also, would love the give them a pair of mittens to keep warm during the winter months and for them to be properly prepared to go outside and play in the snow. In addition to the other little items, I am really looking forward to giving them craft photo frames for them to decorate and put a class photo in. Many students tell me all the time that thinking of our fun times spent together in the classroom, help them get through tough times.
