This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title I school, located in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, NY. My students are from diverse cultures. Most of my students are from low-income households. Many of my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite those challenges, they come in excited and eager to learn and interact with their classmates.

My students are special because they inspire me to become a better teacher.

They have taught me that there is a brighter side despite any negativity you are faced with. I want to be able to provide my students with a safe and consistent classroom environment. A home away from home.

I want nothing more than to inspire my students in the same manner they do for me.

My Project

Help add color to our classroom with a color printer and ink. As an early childhood teacher, I am always taking photos of my students to display their photos and create a memory book for them at the end of the school year.

The printer not only helps add more color to our classroom, it will also make it easier to print homework and other resources for all of my students.

The class really enjoys it when they are given work that is in color as opposed to black and white.
