Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from families with very low income. They have very little and just try to get by each day. To say the least, they are on survival mode. They may not have much, but they have the determination to learn and succeed. My classroom is their safe haven. When they walk into my classroom, they know that they are safe and will have their basic needs met.
I have been trying to provide the class with opportunities to enrich my students' learning with hands-on activities, but I need some help adding to what I have been purchasing for them.
My Project
My students are very interested in arts and graphic design. With the Cricut cutter, EasyPress, and vinyl, we will be creating designs and making them into shirts, stickers, cards, and more. In addition, my students will be introduced to marketing, and business concepts.
It is important for students to have a well-rounded education, I want to provide that for them.
By learning about graphic design and business, it can give my students opportunities that they do not normally experience. Exposing my students to a wide variety of skills can help them realize that they can do and be anything that they would like. The sky is the limit.
In addition, I am asking for a water dispenser for the classroom. I would like to provide fresh drinking water in my classroom for all of my students.
