This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my math classroom, I make sure to teach content that is relevant and applicable to the community of students I serve. A personal touch (I have learned) goes a LONG way.
And the addition of a classroom Cricut maker will allow my students to envision, create, and maintain a culturally relevant environment.
I will encourage students to discuss and problem solve ways of representing mathematics in more creative forms. Worksheets are great, but creating posters, drawings, and graphs with the precision of a Cricut can open the gates to a whole new creative space.
The ability to CREATE is a skill that needs to be practiced daily by our students and a classroom Cricut maker will allow for that opportunity. The best is yet to come....
