My Students
The students at our elementary school have a wonderful reputation for being respectful, kind, and hardworking scholars. I feel so fortunate to have transferred to this school this year and I am looking forward to working with my new 3rd-grade classroom! There are 24 students in our classroom. It is a GATE Cluster classroom with creative and inquisitive minds. I have enjoyed getting to know my new class, and look forward to a fun year of learning! I am a lucky teacher!
My Project
We would like to incorporate a Cricut Machine into our applied math and science program to add necessary creativity and spatial awareness skills. I want to extend STEM learning into STEAM learning! STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. STEAM includes all these subjects, but with the inclusion of art. By attaching the Cricut Machine to a computer, students can produce their designed and engineered projects with Technology. The Cricut Machine will cut out their design into templates ready for them to assemble into an actual product. Science and math come to life as students make 3-D models to help their understanding of math and science concepts. For example, solid shapes could be designed, engineered, and created by children who struggle with the concept of 3 dimensional shapes. The applications into science and math are endless with a Cricut Machine. I am excited to see all the creative ways my students can use the Cricut to help them learn!
