Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work at an elementary school where eighty-three percent of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. My students come from low income homes.
The majority of my students come from another country and are new to the ways of our education system.
A large number of students are learning how to speak and read English for the first time. I will start the school year off with at least fifty fourth grade students and without a doubt, my numbers will climb.
My Project
A Cricut machine would really allow me the opportunity to expand the range of projects available to my students. The children will be able to create their own unique designs on the computer and then send these to the Cricut machine. The Cricut can turn the students' designs into a wide range of projects. Their ideas and designs can be used in collages, bulletin boards, plates, cups, mugs, T-shirts and so much more. The children will have an opportunity to really be creative! I know they will be very inspired by this new machine. The possibilities are endless for them.
