My Project
Reading should be an experience that sparks imagination, curiosity, and creativity. Unfortunately, many students struggle to find books that truly engage them. Our classroom library is in need of an upgrade to create a more inviting and inspiring space for young readers.
With this project, I aim to provide my high school English students with high-interest novels, bookmarks, book labels, and bookshelves to help organize and beautify our reading space.
But reading won’t stop at the pages. We’ll bring these stories to life through visual arts! Students will participate in a literary art project where they will create artistic book labels that categorize our library by genre, making it easier for students to find books they love. Illustrate scenes, characters, or themes from their novels, transforming our books into student-created artwork.
Many students, especially reluctant readers, need more than just a book in their hands to feel connected to literature. By blending visual arts with reading, we are making literature more immersive and personal. Students will not only improve their reading comprehension but also develop a deeper appreciation for storytelling and self-expression.
