Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a class full of very diverse and energetic 5-year olds. Our school has a little over 700 students and is a Title I school. We have low income families, as well as several Spanish speaking and ESL families among our school family. Within my class, I have ESL students, several ethnic backgrounds, and academically challenged students.
My students are like little sponges ready to soak up everything that is given to them.
I want to keep giving them as many opportunities to learn in the best possible way.
My Project
I am requesting materials for my students to help build imagination and creativity. The Legos, creative flakes, and the magnetic tiles will help engage my kids in math, science, and creativity!
Hands-on learning with these tactile/sensory activities will activate learning from a different perspective.
Giving my students soft cushions will make learning more engaging. Sometimes sitting on the tile floor gets uncomfortable! By bringing new materials into the classroom, it will help keep my students excited and wanting to discover more things. I love how these materials also fit into STEM-based learning. It is all about student creativity.
