This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am creating a classroom library that will be a welcoming space for students to explore books. To make this reading area inviting and functional, I am requesting a comfortable carpet that will help define the space and create a cozy atmosphere.

This rug will transform a corner of our classroom into a warm, safe, and inspiring place where students can relax and fully engage with reading.

I want them to see books as adventures, not assignments—and this reading corner will be designed to spark that excitement. Having a defined, comfortable reading area will support my students' development in both Spanish and English literacy. It will provide a calm space where they can focus on building reading fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary through daily practice and exploration. More than just a place to sit, this reading corner will be a space where students feel motivated and confident to grow as bilingual readers
