My Project
In our Title I first-grade classroom, learning is about more than just letters and numbers—it’s about helping students feel safe, supported, and confident as they grow. The items in this project will help us build a space that nurtures both academic skills and emotional well-being.
Hands-on manipulatives for reading and math will give my students the chance to learn through movement and play, which is especially important at this age.
These tools help make abstract concepts concrete, supporting all learners, especially those who need a little extra support or sensory input. I’ve also included books and materials that build social and emotional skills like kindness, resilience, and self-awareness. To create a calming, welcoming space where students can focus, ambiance items to help make our classroom feel more like home.
My goal is to create a learning environment where every child feels successful and supported. I want my students to love coming to school, to feel proud of their progress, and to develop the confidence they need to keep growing.
