A Cozy Place to Get Lost in a Book!

My Students

My students are always active inside and outside the classroom. I work with many different students who are eager to learn and ready to explore. They are full of energy and life and never stop learning at a young age of six and seven. I have a variety of needs in my classroom.

Compassionate, inventive, empathetic, kind-hearted, hard-working, go-getters are just a few key words to describe my first graders.

They have a passion for learning and are ready for any challenge! The growth of a reader in first grade is impeccable!

My Project

Help me create a warm, inviting, cozy atmosphere in my classroom where students can snuggle up with a great book on their own and join me for read aloud each day! The area rug will be a place where multiple students can enjoy engaging books and listen to stories to learn more about their world and themselves! The storage shelves will provide an area for books to be easily accessible and visible to students to easily access.

A classroom's library should be the most enticing place in the whole room!

The second anyone walks in the room their eye should gravitate right to the classroom library. My goal is to give this to my students. I want a place where they are drawn to, to search for books, snuggle up with a book they can't put down, and be excited for read aloud time during the day!

I cannot wait to offer these opportunities to my students. I know they will be so excited to sift through the books, including new books, in the classroom library. They will never want reading time to end!
