My Students
I am so excited to be teaching 3rd grade at Brookside Elementary this year. As a first year teacher, I have a lot of amazing ideas to bring to the classroom. I am passionate about urban education, and believe my kiddos deserve the same opportunities no matter where they come from.
Knowledge is power.
My students can change the world; they just need the right tools. As a teacher I am dedicated to empowering my students to be the best they can be personally and academically.
My Project
We used to have a carpet, but unfortunately, it was cheap and hazardous. The rug kept slipping and was torn off the floor.
We have a meeting every morning.
We tell each other good morning and answer a question of the day. This is an opportunity for students to tell a little more about themselves and to start the day on a good note. No matter what happens outside of school, students are able to step into a safe space and express themselves.
Students just want to be heard. This carpet will give students the chance to get to know one another. It will also be used for reading, responsive classroom, and indoor recess time.
