Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful, and love to learn! They love hands-on activities and are always thinking outside of the box.
They are very enthusiastic when it comes to learning new things, and always up for a challenge!
They work hard together and always persevere.
My students are very respectful of each other and each other's possessions. They love to see their names on materials and to be able to be responsible for their supplies. However, it is a struggle for most of my students to be able to buy their own school supplies. They are truly an incredible group, and I would love to have a variety of tools to push their learning even further.
My Project
I want my students to be able to come into a welcoming classroom and feel safe. The decorations would provide a sense of comfort to my students and help give our classroom a theme. I also wanted to give them a library that is organized, and that they can easily find the types of books they like to read. I find that if they have options of different books in front of them, they will be more motivated to learn and push themselves.
Due to COVID and the unfortunate circumstances, I want to make sure my students have materials they need in case they are learning from home.
Some students do not have their own set of headphones and were easily distracted at home, so I want to make sure they can use the headphones to focus during virtual learning.
