A Cozy Corner To Fall In Love With Reading

My Project

My students are bright, thoughtful, and creative teenagers who are learning to see the power of words in new ways. What I love most about them is their curiosity—they ask hard questions, make meaningful connections, and challenge themselves and each other to think deeply. But like all high schoolers, they sometimes need a space that feels safe, comfortable, and welcoming to take those risks.

By adding a rug and floor seating, I can create a cozy reading corner in our classroom that gives students a break from traditional desks and rows.

This space will invite them to curl up with a book, engage in small-group discussions, or simply enjoy reading without the pressure of a formal desk. Having a comfortable, designated spot for reading helps them see literature not just as homework, but as a doorway into imagination, empathy, and understanding.

These resources will transform our classroom into a place where students feel at home with their learning. A cozy corner reminds them that reading isn’t just an academic task—it’s a lifelong comfort and joy.
