Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The kindergarten and first grade students in my special education classroom greatly benefit from a calm, structured, and welcoming learning environment. A classroom carpet provides a defined space for whole group instruction, helping students know where to sit and how to engage during lessons like morning meeting, story time, and shared discussions. The consistent routine of gathering on the carpet builds a sense of community while also supporting attention and focus. With a soft, inviting space to come together, my students will feel more secure, connected, and ready to learn.
