This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love how expressive and emotionally open my TK students are. They feel deeply and wear their hearts on their sleeves whether they’re overjoyed or frustrated after a tough transition.

This calming corner will provide a cozy, nurturing space where they can take a break, identify their emotions, and return to learning with confidence.

The canopy, pillows, and sensory cushions create a soft, inviting environment that says, “It’s okay to take a breath.”

The SEL books give students language for feelings like anger, sadness, and empathy in an age-appropriate way.

The weighted sensory tools offer comfort and grounding when emotions feel too big to manage alone.

This space will help my students build emotional intelligence, resilience, and the self-regulation skills they’ll use for life.
