This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I'm so excited to lean into flexible seating in the next school year!

There were so many positive elements that grew from having flexible seating in class this year- positive behavior incentives, relaxed and powerful relationship building, and an adaptable meeting hub!

A large rug would set the stage for some incredible learning. An area rug has the power to enhance a space into a home. A rug would help signify to the students collaboration can take place. Our classroom serves as a hub for rehearsals, discussions, and workshops. A flexible seating arrangement ensures that these activities can be conducted seamlessly, promoting active participation and fostering a sense of community among students.

A coffee table and circle chairs will help ground students for dialogue that invites students to engage and encourage deeper conversation in a group setting.

The floor desks will ensure that each student in the group can conduct a seamless transition from the table to the floor building community among students. One of the key benefits of flexible seating is its adaptability. We can easily rearrange the seating to accommodate different group sizes, activities, and teaching methodologies, ensuring that every student's learning needs are met effectively.

By supporting this project, you'll contribute to creating a vibrant, collaborative, and student-centered learning space that empowers our theatre students to excel not just in performance but also in critical thinking, communication, and teamwork.
