A Cozy and Educational Classroom Carpet

Help me give my students a new carpet to gather on during lessons! Students will use the carpet as a handwriting model (print and cursive), cozy place for independent reading, and for small group activities throughout learning segments!

My Students

I am a first year 2nd grade teacher in a Title I school in Georgia. We are a low income/ high poverty school district and 60% of our students receive free and reduced lunch.

Our students love learning and work hard each day to grow as learners and citizens!

I strive to create a classroom environment that allows each student to feel comfortable and excited about learning. I aim to provide students with meaningful learning experience to ensure long term knowledge!

My Project

Students will sit on the classroom carpet during whole group lessons in order to minimize distractions and create a positive learning environment.

Students will use the carpet as a handwriting model for writing uppercase and lowercase letters in both print and cursive!

This carpet will provide a cozy place for students to read independently or work in small groups during learning segments.

As young children, it is hard for students to sit still at a desk throughout an entire school day. This carpet will allow my students to move from their seat throughout the school day in order to increase engagement and learning! This educational carpet will be a great support for our hard working students while creating a cozy classroom environment!
