This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are curious, motivated and thoughtful learners! The majority are ENLs and special need students from low-income families who come into our classrooms everyday with the eagerness of becoming feature leaders, scientists, artists, etc.
My students are big dreamers and believe that they can make a difference and achieve their goals if the support and the opportunity are given to them.
They love to read, write and draw, do math, and do hands-on and movement activities!
The majority of my students are English language learners and students with disabilities who require exposures to the best educational experiences; therefore, hands-on and realia are a must in my classroom. Many of my students struggle to understand and grasp concepts and they need to be exposed to visual and concrete samples for them to get it.
Each student in my classroom is unique and it is my responsibility as their teacher to find the best and most effective way to help them achieve their potential. Every donation makes a difference in my students' lives. I look forward to creating projects that will make our classroom a joyful learning environment.
My Project
Our very hot NYC public school classroom has no air conditioning. There are days when the room temperature might feel like ninety plus degrees which makes learning very hard! I want my kids to feel comfortable and motivated while they are learning in school and an air purifier/fan will help us meet our goals. A fan/air purifier will not only make our classroom environment more comfortable and engaging, but it will also make it safer for all of us, especially for those with medical conditions.
We have asthmatic and allergic students in our classroom and when the classroom gets hot during the late spring and the summer months, it's really not safe for any of my kids.
The air conditioner will also keep teachers (us) healthy and energetic to comply with all our duties too.
Notebooks and colored pencils will help my students become more creative and enthusiastic about their work and learning.
