Before this all began I knew I had an incredible group of students. Students who were determined and resilient. Distance learning has just reaffirmed all of that.
My students and I have embarked on this journey together, and their determination is what continues to guide our class learning and keep me smiling.
Most of my students have nothing but roadblocks in their way, but each and every one of them finds a way under, over or around them.
One of my students in particular has risen to the challenge of distance learning and a computer would help support her.
So many students in my class, my school, my district, my state, my country and the world lack access to computers. Our school has managed to scrape together a few computers to give to students to access online learning through the end of the year.
One of my inclusion students received a computer on loan and it died within 2 weeks; she is currently using a personal tablet provided by her aide.
Giving her access to online learning at home has opened up so many possibilities.
I want her to have a computer to use for the remainder of this school year and beyond. This particular student is an ELL student with several learning and behavior challenges. She has the most incredible and kind soul and a deep passion for learning. By giving her 24/7 access to the outside world and online learning community there is no limit to how much she will achieve.
