Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a 3-5 self-contained classroom. Students in this class have severe learning disabilities that impede their learning and access to the general education curriculum. The class is normally small and intimate. With growing needs, our class size has doubled over the past couple of years. A large carpet will be used to join our class together during instruction and group activities. This will be the one space in the class that creates togetherness.
In addition to togetherness, students should have a place for calmness.
We will also create a chill corner! Our students can become overstimulated and overwhelmed. This space will allow students to manage their emotions.
