Our school consists of 310 amazing students in grades PreK-fourth grade. They come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Our school houses the deaf and hard of hearing program for our county with those thirty-eight students being mainstreamed in the general education population a majority of their day.
Our school invests in students' reading lives through access to diverse books, building a community of readers and providing an inviting, welcoming library environment.
There is an excitement in our building surrounding books and reading.
My Project
All students deserve a comfortable, inviting environment where they can fall into a book they love. Comfortable seating is a great way to provide this.
We are renovating the school library to create a more welcoming, engaging atmosphere.
We want the library to become the literacy hub of the school. A place where all readers are welcome. Currently there is no comfortable seating in the library. We hope to create a space where students will want to come to read, discuss and share their love for all things reading.
There is nothing better than a library full of students who are comfortably and happily reading
