Ever curled up on a comfy couch or bean bag? Ever been able to move and adjust yourself so you can concentrate? Of course, we all have. I want my students to be comfortable in their classroom.
I teach 3rd graders in at a STEAM academy.
My students choose to come to our school and I am afforded a smaller class-size to optimize their learning.
My learners are typically from at-risk settings and over 70% are Hispanic. In this multi-cultural environment, I want each student to have a voice and an individual learning path. I want to prepare them to compete with students who are raised with technology. I want my students to become so fascinated with curiosity that they are excited to take a long bus ride just to attend my class.
Have you ever had the wiggles or felt like you have to get up and move? My students will use these bags, balls, and seats to find a comfy place (and accountable) to learn (i.e. sit where they learn best). These items will be moved and grouped based on what my individual students need.
These balance balls, beanbag seat, and wobble cushions are the flexible seating options are the tools necessary for my students to become empowered and responsible for learning.
Your generosity will make the difference with these at-risk and eager to learn students (and fall in love with literacy).
