My students need a comfortable spot to read books in our reading corner. I would like to purchase a child size small sofa and some comfortable thick mats, so students can enjoy a great book.
My students are filled with joy, enthusiasm and have a deep love of learning at such an early age. Although the year has just begun, they are eager to learn and are filled with excitement. There are 19 students who come from diverse backgrounds both culturally as well as economically, but they have quickly blended into one happy family in my classroom.
Kindergarten is one of the most exciting, joyful years in a child's life.
One of our core values is to increase the students' love of learning. It is easy to achieve this goal to a class of 5 year old students by simply presenting curriculum and teaching new skills. Watching my class live out this value rewards me each and every day of my career.
My Project
My reading corner is in need of a new, comfortable couch and cushions that are just the right size for my young students. There are two book shelves loaded with titles related to the themes being taught. Students enjoy looking at these books, but are usually on the floor or on a hard wooden chair. As the year moves on, more and more students will learn to read and will want to cuddle up with a good book on a comfortable spot. I would like to acquire one small sofa and six colorful pillows for students to sit and enjoy their books.
