My Students

Smiling faces, nervous hugs, and so eager to learn are my kindergartners as they enter the first day of school. I have worked hard in preparing a classroom that is welcoming and comfortable but need a rug and two chairs. One of my goals is instilling the love for reading, help me reach this goal.

I have kindergartners in a school that is located in Chicago, and 99% receive free or reduced lunch.

I have been working on creating a comfortable classroom that will help my students feel at ease when walking through the doors for the first time. Many of my students have not attended preschool, and this is their first time in a structured school environment and by making the classroom as comfortable as possible the transition will much easier for my students which will lead to more productivity.

My Project

Reading is such an important part for developing critical thinking and creativity. My goal as a kindergarten teacher is to teach my students to read, help my students develop the necessary reading strategies, but most importantly foster a love for reading. Your donation will help create a cozy space in our classroom where my students will be able to read books comfortably, we need a rug and two chairs.
