My Project

My students are bright, wiggly, curious, and full of heart. They are kindergarteners learning in a fully remote environment; many from small desks, kitchen tables, or cozy corners at home. While their classroom may not have four walls, it’s filled with laughter, learning, and connection everyday.

My students are special because they are among the youngest learners navigating a virtual world with resilience and joy.

They show up each day eager to explore letters, numbers, stories, and songs, even when technology is tricky and distractions are plenty. They are proof that even at five years old, children are adaptable, empathetic, and deeply motivated to learn.

Teaching kindergarten remotely is magical, but also physically demanding. While my students move, wiggle, and learn from their homes, I spend long hours at my desk, guiding them through each activity with enthusiasm, energy, and patience. My current chair is not equipped for this job. It’s uncomfortable, unsupportive, and by the end of the day, I feel it in my back, shoulders, and energy level.

This project will fund an ergonomic, adjustable office chair that will support me physically so I can show up every day as the best version of myself for my students. A high-quality chair may seem like a small thing, but it will make a *big* difference in how I’m able to teach, interact, and lead.

When I’m physically supported, I can give my full attention to encouraging a shy student to unmute and speak, guiding a child through their first reading, or celebrating when someone finally writes their name all by themselves. The chair becomes more than a seat; it becomes a foundation for joyful, focused, consistent teaching.
