This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students deserve and need a space to feel safe and comfortable to expand their literary skills. Over the past two years, COVID has disrupted their learning and opportunities to be immersed in literature. Additionally, they have experienced teachers leaving before the school year is over. Collectively, their experiences with reading has not been great.
So this year, I want to place special emphasis on sparking a love a reading by creating a safe and comfortable space for my students to immerse themselves in books.
Reading will allow them to explore new worlds while building their literary proficiency.
