Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are part of a Dual Language Program. Our school is located in Chicago, Illinois. The majority of the students come from low-income families. Most of the students qualify for free lunch. Many families struggle to provide basic school supplies.
I have a classroom full of fun, energetic kids, who are eager to learn, have curious minds and are ready to be the next world leaders!
Providing a respectful atmosphere and the best learning opportunities possible is my goal every day.
My Project
My students will look forward to listening and reading different books in our classroom by having a comfortable seating option in our listening center. They will be able to sit down and enjoy a great book along with other students.
Students will be productive as they comfortably read and listen with a partner to expand their vocabulary and social skills as they enjoy a great book.
Students will also have the ability to take books home in their Book Buddy bags and enjoy reading at home with their families. This will help with the transition of books from school to home.
