A Comfortable High School Workspace

Help me give my students adult style & size classroom furniture. These tables and chairs are more ideal for 11th- & 12th-grade students.

My Project

The goal for my high school classroom is to move away from the traditional all-in-one desk set-up and offer my students seating options. My first campaign, "Getting Comfortable in Our Workspace," was a success and my students prefer the new tables. Now it is time to get two more of these tables. Additionally, my students would like the option to use office chairs with these tables.

Several of my students do not fit comfortably in an all-in-one or combo desk.

I teach 11th- and 12th-grade students who are adult-sized. Recently, I had a 12th-grade student get stuck trying to leave the desk. These new tables are also better for collaborating in groups. Learning to collaborate in partners or small groups is an important 21st-century skill.

Students are more likely to engage when they can find a seating option that suits their learning style. My students selected the mobile office chairs after looking at a variety of seating options. These chairs will allow them to move around into collaborating groups. Lastly, sitting on hard, uncomfortable chairs leads to distraction and discomfort.

Our school has limited funds for alternate seating. Your donation can make this possible for my students. Thank you.
