This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are an incredible group of five and six year olds who are growing up in the inner city. Our school is Title I and provides them with both breakfast and lunch to ensure they are not going hungry. Many of my students' families struggle financially.
Nevertheless, they come to school excited about learning every day, and I do my best to give them exciting and engaging ways to learn.
I am inspired daily by the passion they have for school! My students and their families have such a commitment to their learning despite all of their hardships.
My Project
My students spend so much time over the year in our classroom, it really is like a second home to them! I want them to feel safe and at home when we are at school together each day.
I am hoping to get materials to help make our classroom more comfy and cozy for them.
By decorating the walls with a calendar, 100 chart, and inspirational quotes and providing them with a cute rug for our reading corner, I know my students will be even more excited to come to school each day and spend time in our classroom!
