This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are driven, hard-working, bright, humorous, intelligent, and kind. They attend a Title I public school meaning they are from a high poverty, low-income community in which the vast majority receive free or reduced lunch. I teach high school mathematics in an underfunded, marginalized urban school.

My Project

In my current classroom, we do not have access to a color printer. Because of this, I am limited in the mathematical diagrams I am able to provide students. I would love to be able to bring mathematics to life with eye-catching figures and images to enhance their learning experience. I can especially see this being beneficial with my Geometry students as we begin to delve into geometric shapes and figures!

With the access to a color printer, I will not only be able to provide detailed mathematical figures, but also be able to create colorful posters that encapsulate the main topics for each of our learning targets.

I teach a variety of students, some of which have IEPs. This color printer will allow me to create organized, color-coded lessons, which can facilitate learning with a special need.
