My Project
My Kindergarten students are naturally curious and eager to learn. They love to explore, ask questions and make sense of their environment. Learning in Kindergarten is a fun and exciting way to satisfy that curiosity through play, discovery and hands-on activities. During math activities, concrete objects, such as unifix cubes, magnetic shapes and ten frames, help to make abstract concepts like counting, representing numbers and addition more tangible and accessible.
My students' ability to manipulate objects and see mathematical concepts in action makes math feel more fun and engaging.
Math easels can be a valuable tool for my kindergarten students. Easels provide a visual platform that will encourage my students to collaboratively work together, practice communication skills, and peer-to-peer teaching. My students can also present their ideas, solutions and reasoning to their peers on a larger surface. Students will be more engaged with the different materials, such as magnetic ten frames and dry erase markers, because they will use them to visually show their thought process and problem-solving.
My Kindergarten students find math fun when it is presented in an interactive, playful, and engaging way that appeals to them. Math in my class is filled with colorful visuals, hands-on activities, social interactions and opportunities for exploration. These all contribute to making math feel more enjoyable and create a rewarding experience around math. Please consider donating to my Donors Choose project.
