Do you remember what it was like to keep all of your supplies organized as a child. Even for some adults, organization is difficult. My students have supplies that they need throughout the day but with big tables and no desks to keep their things, our room becomes a mess and transitions take time.
I have 25 amazing students who are curious about the world around them.
My students this year love to read and explore new subjects. Currently we are learning all about insects! Our school has about 300 students in grades K-5. We are a close knit school in a close knit community. We are considered high poverty and students received free or reduced lunches.
My Project
Imagine a room about 30 ft by 40 feet. In this room I have 25 2nd graders who each have three folders, a pencil box, library books, a writing journal, and math journal. That means 75 folders, 25 pencil boxes, 50 library books, and 50 notebooks all being organized by 2nd grades on small rectangular tables. Although we try very hard to keep organized it is difficult for the kids and we waste a lot of instructional time finding papers or getting organized. The 30 Seat Sacks will be such an easy solution to a huge problem. I tried to make them myself using fabric but when priced out it became too expensive.
There are many projects on Donor's Choose that are very important to the individual asking for it to be supported.
Sometimes it is the easiest solution to a problem that can fix it. Our simple need is a place to organize our materials. I hope that you will consider supporting our project. Thank you!
