Having a fun, clean and safe learning environment for my is kids all that matters because many come from a very rough life in Brooklyn, New York City.
Many hold a wide range of responsibilities in their household at the tender age of 8. Often they move from shelter to shelter or foster family to foster family.
My past students will tell anyone that I'm a teacher who loves for her students to have fun while learning all the time. Because of many hygiene issues (ringworm , soiled garments, etc.) I have to keep my room clean to stop the spread of these germs. There is no real way of making sure the classroom rug is really clean unless I can get a carpet steamer to clean it weekly.
The students and I would have the official clean classroom it's all we'll need to complete our happy class. My students life may be quit complex outside school at least we can create a happy life for the future in school.
