A Clean Classroom is a Healthy Classroom

My students need some basic hygiene supplies like Clorox wipes, Clorox hand sanitizer, and Kleenex tissues for use in my classroom.

My Students

I currently teach at a public high school academy which helps students who are behind in their class work to get caught-up and graduate from high school. Our program serves about 50 students at a time. My school utilizes online learning platforms to deliver the instruction to the students. These online learning management programs can be accessed from anywhere by an internet enabled computer or tablet.

Many of my students are trying to complete school so that they can better themselves with more education at the college or community college level.

Some are training to enter career technical fields of employment. My school is located in a high poverty area and many of the students live in rural communities with limited public services (like libraries, free internet access, public transportation). Doing school work can be a challenge for many of our students.

My Project

I have requested basic hygiene materials to help keep my classroom clean, especially during the months when colds and flu are so prevalent. I have asked for Clorox wipes to clean and disinfect the tables in my classroom and the headphones that the students use. Lunch is served in my room daily, so I must clean each table every day after the students eat lunch. The hand sanitizer will be used by the students when they need to clean their hands, since my classroom is a portable classroom with no plumbing. The Kleenex tissues will allow students to stay in the classroom to cover their sneezes and help to prevent the spread of germs to others.

By using these basic hygiene supplies, my students should remain healthier and not have to miss as much school due to illness.

In the past, I have had to purchase these supplies myself out of my own personal resources. It can get very expensive for me during the year.
