My students need basic cleaning supplies to keep the room clean and fresh. The bulletin border and decor will help liven up the classroom and give it a more welcoming feel.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Students come to my classroom from all walks of life. Some have been given the opportunity to travel the world with their military families, and others have never left the town they live in. I teach special education students, English language learners, college prep students, and honors level students.
Our school is Title I.
100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Some students can't afford to buy the necessary supplies for class, and some come to class everyday without something to write with. This year students have had to deal with larger class sizes, some reaching or exceeding 40 students. Even with these challenges our students are learning and excelling. I hope this project can help me help my students succeed.
My Project
The cleaning supplies in this project will help me and my students keep our classroom clean. The Expo markers often leave the whiteboards grimy and difficult to read. Students should take pride in the environment they learn in. Students love to be helpful and aloowing the students clean the board makes both students and teachers happy.
Students need to take pride in their environment and these supplies will help them do that.
I like to clean the boards at least once per week and the students enjoy helping out. Allowing the more active students a brief task gives them the chance to get up and move around, then come back to their seats and get focused on their work. We use a class set of whiteboards for quick assessments and games and they need to be cleaned regularly. The supplies from this project will help keep out materials in good condition.
I love to keep my room looking bright and cheerful. The bulletin border and accents will help me create a welcoming atmosphere for my students.
