My students need a vacuum to ensure that our classroom carpet is in the best condition possible for my little ones. We spend much of our day learning on the carpet.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am currently teaching Kindergarten at a Title 1 school. I have 24 students in my class. I am excited to start the school year by providing my students with the opportunity to learn in a welcoming environment. Teaching Kindergarten is the most rewarding job. Each day we spend time exploring ourselves through art and play all while learning how to be little people in a big world. By the end of the day our room looks well used and benefits from a quick cleaning with the use of Clorox wipes and a vacuum to prepare for a new day to come.
My Project
If provided with these materials I will be able to vacuum my classroom carpet daily. Currently our classrooms are vacuumed once a week due to cutbacks. Instead of the classroom feeling like a welcoming place it feels very drab.
Since my little ones lay, sit, and play on the carpet through out the day, once a week vacuuming doesn't cut it.
With this vacuum I can ensure that our carpet is as clean as can be before the start of each school day. This in turn will make the children and parents feel welcome and excited to come learn and play.
