Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With the Lunar New Year coming up, I am requesting items that will significantly enhance student learning environments by ensuring a clean and hygienic space. Because our classrooms are located outside the main building, with high student foot traffic we frequently see a lot of trash and cleanliness issues.

By having these pickers and trash cans on hand, my class and I can work on their life skills education, as well as teach and emphasize cleanliness by helping maintain a neat environment and be a part of the school community.

Having a long-term supply of paper towels will be helpful for cleaning up spills within the classroom.

The unbreakable mirrors will help students practice facial expressions for their socio-emotional skills in communicating with peers.

Multiple trash and recycling bins in the classroom will help each student learn to clean up after themselves, as well as grabbers so students never have to touch the trash with their hands, as well as have a long-lasting supply of clean recyclable paper towels.

Improved cleanliness and being seen contributing to campus cleanliness by our neurotypical peers will allow students to feel more a part of the campus community

My primary goal for this project is to maintain a consistently clean and healthy classroom as well as help alleviate our problems with ants, birds, and other scavengers. All our students can take pride in creating a more conducive learning atmosphere.

By prioritizing cleanliness, I aim to provide a safe and pleasant space where students can thrive academically and remain engaged and comfortable. My students are truly special because they come to class excited to learn and have a consistently positive outlook on life. Their enthusiasm and optimism not only contribute to the overall classroom atmosphere but foster a supportive and dynamic learning environment.
