This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A classroom with 20 students can get messy floors relatively quick. Imagine a classroom with 30 students. Now picture those same 30 students on a fall or winter day bringing in outside dirt and leaves into the classroom. Our students are Title 1 students that are provided "Breakfast in the Class" every school day. This results in crumbs throughout the classroom.
Our custodian has a strict calendar for sweeping and vacuuming our classrooms, so we don't get daily sweeping or vacuuming.
I believe my kids deserve a clean and welcoming learning environment. Even though I teach my kids to pick up after themselves, it's those crumbs that they usually can't get. I make every effort to sweep my classroom on a daily basis, but sometimes it is impossible because of meetings, after-school student clubs, or intervention. The Roomba will help keep our classroom clean. My students and I will be at ease knowing our classroom floors will be swept on a daily basis.
More than half of students from low‑income households
