My Students

Sitting on the edge of the Badlands, surrounded on three sides by the Pine Ridge and Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservations, Martin Elementary School is a good base camp to experience not only the Lakota culture, but the cattle ranching culture as well. With only 954 people in the rural community, 262 are students in the PK-5th Grade School.

Warrior PRIDE: Participate, Respect, Integrity, Diligence and Engage are behaviors not only seen, but displayed and modeled throughout the hallways and classrooms at MGS.

My Project

As an Intervention teacher, I strive everyday to inspire students' creativity and imagination! I want students to see beyond their isolated, rural community and not only know, but believe there are unlimited opportunities that surround them and that they are capable of achieving and experiencing them.

Google Expeditions will help me in providing inspiration and motivation to struggling readers by helping my students visualize information in a new ways, provide background knowledge, positively impact their ability to retain information and most of all inspire a life long love of reading.

Please help me take my students on an adventure that can impact a lifetime!
