Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have noticed that students struggle when they are made to sit in traditional seating all day long. Even if you get them up to move, traditional seating is still uncomfortable for them. Students struggle to focus and this adds to behavior problems and less learning.
I would love to be able to give my students a choice in seating that will help their mind and body.
My students would benefit from using a standing desk with a balance board, not only will this help them stay focused it will also work on balance and strengthen their legs and core. The balance ball chair, donut, and peanut chair will also help them be able to move if they are figety, but it will also work on their core and balance. An added bonus is all three of these items are stable and won't roll around the room.
I think students will benefit from being able to choose a seat that will benefit their mind and body. Learning how your body and mind work best is a huge part of being successful in school and in life.
