This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach seventh-grade English in Southeast Los Angeles and my students are the reason I do what I do. They are incredibly curious and multifaceted learners who deserve access to books that will help them explore their interests, grow their love of reading, and support their social-emotional development.

The goal of this project is to build a classroom library that will center reading as a source of joy in my students' lives!

I already started setting up a reading center with couches and bookshelves, but it's missing the most important part: BOOKS! Your donation to this project will help bring our classroom library to life by giving students access to a range of high-interest titles that will keep them engaged in reading and support their social-emotional development. Any and every donation will help put a meaningful book in the hands of a student who is eager to read!
