A Classroom IPad to Inspire Mobile Learning

My Students

Walk into my classroom and you see 23 eight and nine year olds eager for what they will learn for the day. Get to know them better, you will meet animal lovers, athletes, You-Tubers and artists.

However, what they all have in common {besides their age}, is that they are all 21st-century learners.

They live in an age where technology is always at their fingertips and the need to be problem-solve with technology is crucial. Being proficient with multiple devices is such an asset in today's world.

My Project

While we have access to Chrome Books, their capabilities can be fairly limited.

When students need to capture photos of their work, whether it's paper or hands on, the IPad can help with that.

Students will also be able to create projects using Apple only apps {Imovie, Notes, Pages...}

Our math curriculum comes with Ipad only games in which we would be able to easily access and play in our classroom.

Students will also have the opportunity to go on virtual "field trips" through virtual reality apps and programs. These are so amazing and interactive; being able to travel the world right in the classroom!

Our class will be able to engaged and access interactive books only available for the Ipad to help support work during our Reader's Workshop time.

The learning that takes place in multiple place at school can be captured further. Music, P.E. and Art can be documented and incorporated more seamlessly into our classroom with the help of the IPad. Not only that, but our experiences from field trips and guest speakers can be captured easily.
