Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My beautiful scholars are kind, inquisitive, and open to all kinds of exploration. They work together, look out for each other, and celebrate each other's victories. They use their real-world experiences to build upon their everyday learning and love to use materials from nature to create and explore.

As an early childhood teacher, I feel it is my duty to create a fun, safe and encouraging learning space that will help lay the foundation for how young scholars view school, learning, and the world around them.

My Project

In my classroom, freedom of artistic expression is seen and felt all throughout the day. While one child may be creating his name using various pieces of textured paper, another will be seen painting a picture of her family on a canvas. Art is always present, and it is through this expression that we gain a better understanding of how each child learns, what their interests are, and the extensions of each lesson that are needed.

Adding these art supplies to my classroom will allow my students to continue learning and creating, while exposing them to new and engaging materials and projects.

As I consistently reach for new and innovative ways to present ideas and concepts, the goal of creating a learning environment filled with intriguing materials is always present.
