Help me give my students a look at primary sources from the Civil Rights Movement.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Moore's classroom raised $263

My Students
I work with gifted students at the high school level at a school that specializes in science and the arts rather than sports. Most of my students have had trouble fitting in at schools at some point in their lives and are looking for a place to belong.
I work with many students who have special needs as well.
My students work hard and have a desire to study. At their high school graduation, they will graduate with a high school diploma and an associate degree.
My Project
The struggle for civil rights continues today. Help my students learn about the fight led by Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X and others as they fought for integration, equality, rights, freedom, and hope. These award-winning books help to bring home the experience of the Civil Rights Movement.
Included in this project is enough copies of 'The Watsons Go To Birmingham' to assign to every student in my class for a reading project.
These books tell stories from a primary source perspective, letting the students in my class see the story from the eyes and perspective of those that were present during the movement and the times.
This is the best way for my students to learn the true struggle that African Americans experience during this time.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
