My students need a Chromebook to help them with setting physical activity goals electronically and tracking individual progress without the use of paper and pencil.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is one where all of our students are provided with a classroom and school environment that encourages academic and moral excellence and conveys the worth and dignity of each child, the excitement, and joy of learning, the beauty, and wonder of life. A life that moves beyond self, the order that is essential to learning and living.
Our school is representative of our linguistically diverse community.
I teacher over 500 students each week. Over 90% of them are Hispanic, 84% are considered low-income and about 14% are English Language learners. Our school is also unique. We have dual-language classrooms in each grade. Students are learning in two languages, English and Spanish simultaneously.
My Project
The Chromebook I am requesting will enable my students to experience learning in a whole new realm. Adding technology to my curriculum will allow my students to better grasp the data they are collecting.
My student learning goal this year is to have my students become aware of the importance of living an active life.
My fourth graders were given pedometers. They wear the pedometers all day during the school day. They record the number of steps taken at the end of the day. This has been semi-successful. Some of them have lost their recording sheets. With the Chromebook, as a station in our gymnasium, they will be able to record their data in a Google form or in a Sheet. We can then analyze this data and create charts and tables. Students will learn to readjust their goals and work towards them.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
