My students are naturally curious learners who come to school each day asking question after question. As an educator, I foster and encourage their questions. But I also want to help them take their questioning one step further; I want to assist them in finding the answers they crave.
My students are eager learners with a desire to build, design, read, write and learn.
If you asked them what they liked best about school, they would enthusiastically tell you building with our ZOOBs, Lincoln Logs, Magoformers and Legos. This year, I’ve created centers around building with hands-on manipulatives and real word math problem solving – and they love it!
My Project
Help my young mathematicians grow into young scientists! My students need the Lakeshore STEM Bundle Grades 4-5. This project will engage my students in hands-on challenges that ask them to build, analyze and create. They will have the opportunity to problem solve with their peers, therefore developing many necessary language, social and critical thinking skills. My students will learn about the scientific method through creating solutions to problems, testing a hypothesis and analyzing their work.
Through this project my students will be introduced to new careers and inspired to learn more about the field of engineering.
Many of my students are not exposed to STEM careers in their everyday lives. This project will give them the opportunity at a young age to learn about the benefit of pursuing a career in a STEM field. They will be exposed to real-world challenges in a fun and exciting way. Your donation will help build America’s future scientists!
