My Students
The first steps on a child's academic career are crucial to their future success! I teach Kindergartners in a Title One school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students have strongly been affected by the Flint Water Crisis. Despite the challenges life has given them, they come to school eager to learn.
My students want to learn all they can and love being at school.
They know school is a place where they are welcomed, safe and can be successful.
My Project
Structure and routine are crucial to a young child's learning. A classroom carpet is a key element in an early childhood environment.
A comfortable place with room for the whole class to sit and share learning experiences.
This is a welcome place for children to grow their brains.
A carpet spacious enough for all students to sit will reduce behavior problems. This will help my students focus therefore increasing our learning and helping to keep us on task!
My students will utilize the carpet in many ways. Most of our learning takes place sitting on the floor all together. The carpet would be an ideal location for all whole group lessons. My students will have a comfortable place on the carpet for quiet reading time. We will also use the carpet for students to work in pairs for learning centers.
Donations for this project will help increase production in my classroom as well as decrease behavior problems.
