My students need light filters for the fluorescent lighting in our classroom, to create a calm and welcoming space.

My Students

My students are a very diverse group of children with a deep love for music.

In music class, they LOVE anything that gets them moving-whether it is dancing or playing instruments, and for many of these children, this music class is their only exposure to the arts.

They value the opportunity to participate and learn, and have begun asking me to learn EVEN MORE! This love for learning has me excited to create more complex lessons with more instruments and materials!

My Project

Our school, like most public schools, uses a LOT of fluorescent light. This light can be harsh on the eyes, and often times on the mood of teachers and students alike. A few months ago, we purchased a few of these light filters for use in the music classroom, and they make SUCH a difference in creating a calming, more creative atmosphere.

My students deserve a calm, welcoming space where they can feel free to take risks, make music, and achieve greatness!

I feel like adding more of these light filters in our classroom will add to the physical component of that classroom environment. Our classroom culture is already there, and we are now pushing to have our physical classroom environment to be there as well.
