Help me give my students access to Casio FX-9750GIII, a graphing calculator that is a basic tool of upper-level math classes that the ACT and world around them already assumes that they have access to.

My Project
Graphing calculators have always been recommended for every upper-level math class, beginning with Algebra 1. In the past our students were instructed to buy there own, and a very long time ago that worked. Now we muddle through without them, struggling to teach our students the deeper portions of our curriculum that were never designed to be done without calculators. Our students are expected to take the ACT, a college readiness test, as our state test, but it was designed to be done with a calculator. It is a timed test, as all of our benchmarks are, and by not having these basic tools that the writers of our assessments are assuming students have, our students are handicapped before they even begin.
With a classroom set of 36 calculators, about 200 students per year will be able to use them every year for the foreseeable future.
The impact will be great and long-lasting. We can spend less time plotting points and more time analyzing the information in the graphs. Students will be able to focus on the high school math curriculum instead of being bogged down by pieces of math that take too long to do by hand. Our entire math department selected this specific calculator so that there will be consistency in every grade and every classroom, so every year the gain from the calculators will increase as students become more proficient at using them for a wider variety of things.
